The Father’s Justice and Final Judgment

God the Father: Knowing the First Person of the Trinity

Justice Is Part of God’s Goodness

Deuteronomy 32:4:

“The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice.”

The Father’s justice is not a counterbalance to His love—it is an expression of it. He judges because He is holy, true, and eternally committed to what is right.

There will be a final reckoning—not because God is cruel, but because He is good.

Judgment Is the Father’s Righteous Right

Acts 17:31:

“He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed…”

The Father is the One who has appointed the day, the standard, and the Judge—Jesus Christ.

Final judgment is not theoretical. It is certain, and it is already scheduled.

The Standard of Judgment: Perfect Righteousness

Romans 2:6:

“He will render to each one according to his works…”

The judgment will not be random or unfair. It will be exact, impartial, and informed.

There will be no bribes. No loopholes. No favoritism. The Father sees all—and will judge all—with perfect equity (Rom. 2:11).

The Books Will Be Opened

Revelation 20:12:

“The dead were judged by what was written in the books…”

Every thought, word, and deed will be weighed.

But for those in Christ, another book will speak—the Book of Life—declaring: “Paid in full.”

The Role of Christ in Judgment

John 5:22:

“The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son…”

Though the Father ordains the judgment, He has appointed the Son to execute it. Jesus will be the Judge—but He does so on the Father’s behalf.

This means the Judge knows our frame, has walked in our flesh, and will judge with mercy and truth.

The Justice of the Father Brings Hope

Psalm 96:13:

“He comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness…”

For the oppressed, this is good news. Evil will not last forever. Wickedness will not go unanswered. The Father will set all things right.

The Justice of the Father Brings Fear

Hebrews 10:31:

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Judgment is not merely theological—it is personal. All who reject Christ will face the wrath of the Lamb (Rev. 6:16).

This is why the Gospel must be preached. The Father has appointed a day—and it is drawing near.

Why the Father’s Justice Is Beautiful

  • It proves His holiness is real.

  • It proves His love is not sentimental.

  • It proves His Son’s sacrifice was necessary.

  • It proves our final hope is not naive.

God would not be good if He did not judge sin.

Mercy Now—Judgment Later

2 Peter 3:9:

“The Lord is… patient… not wishing that any should perish…”

Right now, the Father’s justice is restrained by mercy. But that mercy has an expiration date. One day, the patience will end, and the judgment will begin.

Today is the day of salvation.

How Should We Respond?

1. Repent and Believe

Don’t wait. Flee to the cross. The Judge became the Substitute.

2. Live with Sobriety

The Father sees all. Let your life reflect the seriousness of coming judgment.

3. Share the Gospel Urgently

Warn with tears. Plead with truth. Speak of the coming day—and the way of escape through Christ.

Conclusion: The Father Who Judges and Saves

Final judgment is real—and it is righteous.

But the Father who judges is also the Father who justifies.

Run to Him. Trust His Son. Rest in His promises.

Because on that final day, the only shelter will be under His mercy—secured by the blood of the One who took the judgment in your place.

“Whoever believes in Him is not condemned…” (John 3:18)
