The broad road is not rebellion. It is religion without repentance. Assurance without transformation. Comfort without Christ. It is filled with people who never had to change much.

Christ Does Not Heal the Comfortable. Few things feel more comforting than being told, “You’re a Christian now.” Especially when it comes from a trusted authority, such as a pastor, parent, counselor, or youth leader. But Scripture never grants assurance that cheaply.

Human nature craves comfort. We want certainty without scrutiny, peace without holiness, assurance without obedience. And nowhere is this craving more dangerous than in matters of the soul. Scripture does not indulge this desire.
