Theology
Theology is God-centered. The term itself—theologia; means a word or discourse about God. In the Reformed view, theology begins with God, not man, and is primarily concerned with God’s self-revelation, not human speculation.
Theology is grounded in Scripture.

Unity: Numerical Oneness and Simplicity
God’s Unity – One Lord The Shema of Deuteronomy 6:4 declares God’s numerical oneness: “The LORD is one.” He is the only true God, unrivaled and incomparable (Isa. 45:5). This truth anchors biblical faith in monotheism and protects against the worship of false gods. The New Testament affirms this same unity, with Paul writing, “There is one God” (1 Tim. 2:5). God’s Simplicity – Not Made of Parts God’s simplicity means He is not composed of separate parts. His attributes are no

Immutability: The God Who Does Not Change
God’s immutability means He never changes in His essence, character, purpose, or promises. “I, the LORD, do not change” (Mal. 3:6). Though creation shifts and people falter, God remains constant. His unchanging nature anchors faith, ensures His Word stands forever, and guarantees His promises. For believers, His immutability is a source of stability, hope, and assurance in a world of constant change.

Independence: God’s Self-Existence and Aseity
God’s Self-Existence Defined When God revealed His name to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exod. 3:14); He declared His self-existence. He is not caused, created, or dependent. John 5:26 affirms this same truth: “The Father has life in Himself.” Everything else borrows existence, but God simply is. His aseity distinguishes Him from all created beings and makes Him the fountain of all life. Creation’s Dependence on God While God is independent, all creation depends entirely on Him. Pa

Elohim and the Greatness of God’s Power
The name Elohim, used over 2,000 times in Scripture, emphasizes God’s supreme power and majesty. Appearing in Genesis 1:1, it presents Him as Creator and sustainer of all things. Though plural in form, the name reflects the fullness of His power and hints at His triune nature. Elohim declares that God is strong, sovereign, and mighty to save, ruling over creation and history with unmatched authority.

The Cosmological and Teleological Arguments Re-examined
The cosmological and teleological arguments highlight God’s power and wisdom: creation demands a cause, and design implies a designer. Yet these arguments, when detached from Scripture, fall short. Many have used them to defend false gods. Only the Bible reveals the true Creator, who is both the First Cause and the purposeful Designer. In Christ, we see not only order in creation but redemption for sinners.

The Limits of Human Reason and the “Natural Proofs”
For centuries, thinkers have argued for God’s existence using reason—ontological, cosmological, teleological, and moral proofs. While these point to design and order, they cannot lead to the saving knowledge of the true God. Scripture teaches that reason alone is insufficient because fallen humanity suppresses the truth. Only God’s self-revelation through His Word and Spirit opens blind eyes to see Him.

Why True Knowledge of God Requires Revelation and Regeneration
The Limits of Human Effort Paul explains that fallen humanity “suppresses the truth in unrighteousness” (Rom. 1:18). The natural mind is hostile toward God and unable to grasp His truth (1 Cor. 2:14). Though creation testifies clearly to His existence, sinful man distorts this witness, exchanging the glory of the Creator for idols (Rom. 1:23). No philosophical reasoning or moral striving can overcome this blindness. Apart from God’s intervention, humanity remains lost in igno

God’s Eternal Reality as the Source of All Life
God Exists Beyond the Boundaries of Time Time is one of God’s creations. Genesis 1:1 records the beginning of all things: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Before that moment, only God existed. Unlike creatures who are bound by beginnings and endings, God is timeless—“the eternal God is a dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deut. 33:27). His name revealed to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exod. 3:14), declares His timeless being. He is

God’s Incomprehensibility and Human Limitation
While God can be truly known, He can never be fully comprehended. The Bible affirms both His knowability and His mystery. His greatness surpasses human intellect, and His thoughts are higher than ours (Isa. 55:9). We know Him through His Word and Spirit, but our understanding is always partial. This humbles us, teaching that worship begins where human reasoning ends—with reverent trust in the infinite God.

The Necessity of Faith in God’s Existence
Faith is not optional in approaching God—it is essential. Hebrews 11:6 declares that “without faith it is impossible to please Him.” To believe in God is to trust His existence, His goodness, and His promises. Denying Him leads to folly and darkness, but faith opens the way to true life. God calls all people to trust His Word and live in dependence upon Him, the One who rewards those who seek Him.

God’s Existence Declared, Not Debated
The Bible begins with certainty, not speculation: “In the beginning, God created.” Scripture does not argue for God’s existence—it proclaims it as the foundation of all truth. Genuine faith acknowledges His eternal reality and sovereign rule. To deny Him is to embrace folly, but to trust Him is to find life, for “in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).

God’s Self-Revelation: Scripture as His Testimony
God has not left humanity in the dark. Through His Word, He has revealed Himself with clarity and authority. Scripture is not a human invention but the very breath of God (2 Tim. 3:16). Unlike shifting human reason or tradition, the Bible provides a certain and infallible testimony of who God is. To know Him truly, we must receive His Word as the sufficient, final, and trustworthy revelation.
