God’s Existence Declared, Not Debated

The Bible’s opening verse, Genesis 1:1, anchors the believer’s worldview with the unshakable reality of God’s existence: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Scripture does not begin with philosophical arguments or human speculation but with divine proclamation. The existence of God is assumed, not defended. This starting point reminds us that all reality flows from Him, and apart from Him nothing exists (John 1:3). The testimony of Scripture is both self-attesting and self-authenticating, demanding humble faith rather than skeptical debate (Heb. 11:6).
God’s Eternal Reality as the Source of All Life
Unlike finite creatures bound by time, God is eternal, existing without beginning or end (Ps. 90:2; Isa. 44:6). His very name, revealed to Moses as “I AM WHO I AM” (Exod. 3:14), declares that He is self-existent and dependent on nothing. All other beings derive their existence from Him, for “He Himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything” (Acts 17:25). This truth is not merely abstract theology—it grounds our worship, for the One who called all things into being by His word is the same One who sustains us day by day. To acknowledge His eternal existence is to rest in His unshakable sovereignty.
Faith and Worship as the Right Response
The reality of God’s existence demands more than intellectual acknowledgment; it demands worship and obedience. The psalmist declares, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Ps. 14:1). Denying God is not a neutral stance; it is moral rebellion. By contrast, those who know Him are called into relationship: “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Faith is not blind optimism but trust in God’s revealed Word. As believers, we affirm that the Creator of Genesis 1 is the Father who sent His Son for our salvation. To confess His existence is to rest in His promises, to bow before His majesty, and to live daily in reverent trust.
