God the Father: Knowing the First Person of the Trinity
The World Is Hostile—But the Father Is Strong
John 17:15:
“I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.”
This is Jesus, praying for His disciples to the Father. He didn’t pray for escape—He prayed for protection. And that protection flows from the Father’s unwavering commitment to guard His own.
The Evil One Is Real
1 Peter 5:8:
“Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion…”
The Father is not unaware. He is not passive. He sees every scheme, every snare, every whispered temptation. And He is actively defending His people.
The Father Delivers His People
Matthew 6:13:
“Deliver us from the evil one…”
Jesus taught us to pray for daily deliverance—not because the Father is reluctant, but because He is able. This petition reminds us that the battle is spiritual, and the Father’s power is sufficient.
The Father Provides Armor
Ephesians 6:11:
“Put on the whole armor of God…”
The armor belongs to God—and it comes from the Father. Every piece—truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the Word—is a gift from His hand, meant to protect and equip His children for the fight.
The Father Limits the Enemy
Job 1:12:
“Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.”
Satan cannot touch a believer without permission. The Father sets the boundaries, and His sovereignty holds firm. Even when He allows trials, He never abandons His children to destruction.
Christ Prayed—and Still Intercedes
Luke 22:31–32:
“Satan demanded to have you… but I have prayed for you…”
The Father heard that prayer—and He hears it still. Jesus intercedes, the Spirit empowers, and the Father upholds.
You are not alone in the battle.
The Father Gives Strength in Temptation
1 Corinthians 10:13:
“He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability…”
The Father is not watching idly. He is actively providing escape routes, strength, and clarity when the enemy strikes.
The Father Guards Our Faith
1 Peter 1:5:
“Who by God’s power are being guarded through faith…”
The faith that saves is also the faith that is kept—by the Father’s power. Satan may sift, but he cannot sever the bond between the Father and His child.
Victory Is the Father’s Promise
Romans 16:20:
“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”
The battle is real. But it is also won. The Father has promised final victory through Christ, and that promise is sealed by His own power and faithfulness.
How to Rest in the Father’s Protection
Pray daily – Ask the Father to keep you.
Stay alert – Watch and pray (Matt. 26:41).
Use His Word – The Sword of the Spirit is your weapon.
Trust His strength – Your victory is in His hands, not yours.
Walk in His light – Resist the enemy by clinging to the truth.
Conclusion: Held by the Father’s Hand
You are not exposed.
You are not vulnerable.
You are kept—by the hand of your heavenly Father.
He sees the attack before you feel it. He equips you before you ask. He holds you when you’re weak. And He never sleeps.
So take heart, child of God.
The Father is your refuge.
“The Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” (2 Thess. 3:3)
